Holidays in April, Easter and Kingsday

In April 2022 there are several official holiday days around Easter and Kingsday. At most companys you would not have to work on these days.

Good friday

The friday before the Easter weekend starts is called good friday and will be on the 15th of April 2022. Good friday is also known as holy friday and is the Christian holy day to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus and his death at Calvary.

Easter

The Easter weekend starts from saturday the 16th of April until monday the 18th of April 2022. Easter is one of the principal holidays, or feasts, of Christianity. It marks the resurrection of Jesus three days after his death by crucifixion.

Mostly celebrated by eating good food, hiding eggs and painting eggs. In super markets you will find lots of different chocolate easter eggs.

Kingsday

Kingsday will be held on wednesday the 27th of April.

Traditionally most people will where some orange clothes. The whole country will be orange. 

The royal family will each year choose its destination to visit. For 2022 it will be Maastricht.

Every city in the Netherlands will celebrate it with party on the streets. Many artists will be performing on kingsday. 

In many citys there will be second hand markets where you can try to buy or sell your stuff.
